About This Book

Humanity began Black. The first humans emerged in Africa among dark-skinned populations. Every variation of skin colour that exists in the world today, from the darkest to the palest, is a modification of that original dark-skinned form, produced by migration and adaptation over hundreds of thousands of years. This is not a cultural claim. It is the convergent conclusion of the fossil record, population genetics, pigmentation biology, and the honest reading of the ancient texts. The populations enslaved in the transatlantic slave trade, taken from the coastlines of West and Central Africa, loaded onto ships, transported across the Atlantic, and sold as property for four centuries, were the people closest to that original human form. The populations that enslaved them were derived from that same origin, having migrated from Africa and adapted to lower-ultraviolet environments in the distant past. A derivative population enslaved the original. And to make it possible, they had to first construct a lie, the most elaborate, most institutionally sustained, most globally distributed lie in human history, that the original was inferior. This book names that lie. It traces its architecture across five centuries of theology, pseudoscience, law, education, and visual culture. It presents the evidence that destroys it, from the Edwin Smith Papyrus, which documents African surgical knowledge 5,000 years ago, to the ancient DNA studies that confirm the derivation of European populations from African ancestors, to the biblical genealogies that trace an unbroken line of dark-skinned people from Adam to Jesus without a single European in the chain. This book does not ask for your comfort. It asks for your attention. The evidence has always been here. The fossils are in the ground. The genome is in every human cell. The genealogies are in every Bible ever printed. What has been missing is the willingness to follow the evidence honestly to its conclusion, without stopping at the point where it becomes inconvenient. This book does not stop. From Adam to you. Black blood. One humanity. The beginning was always Black.
